Introduction

BibleHelp ("we", "our", "the app") is a Bible guidance application that helps users find comfort and wisdom through scripture. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password hash so you can sign in and sync your data.
  • Guidance queries: When you ask for guidance, the text you enter is sent to our AI service to generate relevant Bible verses and interpretations.
  • Chat messages: When you use the chat feature to explore scripture further, your messages are sent to our AI service to generate a response.
  • Saved app data: If you are signed in, guidance history, favorites, bookmarks, reading position, hymn favorites, playlists, settings, and saved verse images may sync to our cloud database so they are available across your devices.
  • Preferences: Your chosen settings, such as Bible translation, language, theme, and display preferences, are stored locally and may sync when you are signed in.
  • Subscription information: Purchases and subscription status are processed by RevenueCat and the applicable app store. We use that status to unlock supporter features.

Usage Analytics

We collect limited product analytics to understand whether the app is working, which features are used, and where users encounter errors. Analytics may include:

  • Anonymous app/device identifier generated by BibleHelp.
  • Logged-in user ID when you are signed in.
  • Session ID, platform, app version, build number, event name, event timestamp, and safe event properties.
  • Feature usage events such as app open, onboarding completion, guidance completion, hymn play, verse image generation, paywall view, purchase result, and error categories.

We do not intentionally store raw guidance queries, raw chat messages, private notes, prayer text, or full Bible search text inside analytics events.

Session Insight Data

To understand how people use BibleHelp and improve the guidance experience, we may store session-level product insight data. This can include anonymous app/device ID, session ID, platform, app version, timestamps, feature source, navigation context, guidance prompts, chat messages, generated AI responses, and logged-in user ID when you are signed in.

This data is used to understand activation, feature usage, conversation quality, errors, and product gaps. It is stored in our cloud database and is available only through our administrative tools.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • Precise location data.
  • Contacts.
  • Microphone recordings.
  • Camera access.
  • Advertising ID for cross-app tracking.

How We Use Your Information

  • Guidance queries and chat messages are sent to AI services solely to generate Bible-based responses.
  • Account and synced app data are used to provide sign-in, backup, restore, and cross-device sync.
  • Analytics are used to measure app reliability, feature usage, activation, subscriptions, and errors.
  • Session insight data is used to review anonymous and logged-in session flows, including what users asked and how the app responded, so we can improve BibleHelp.
  • Subscription status is used to unlock supporter features and restore purchases.
